Quirks

I started a thread on GT about quirks. Here are some of mine, in no particular order:

- My sandwiches have to be cut diagonally.
- I can't fall asleep in my room with the closet door open.
- I can't sleep with any part of my arms or legs hanging off the bed. Stems from that whole 'something lives under your bed and is going to get you' from childhood. The most that would get me nowadays are dustbunnies, but still.
- I order my cheeseburgers with pickles on them, but I have to remove the pickles and eat them first before the burger. Pickles that come on the side don't count.
- I have to cover up some of the little lights in my room before going to bed. The light from my computer mouse gets covered up. My digital alarm clock can't be facing me.


And two according to my girlfriend, which I would like to debate ;)

1. I have to sleep on my right side.
- Not true. I prefer sleeping on my right side, but it doesn't absolutely have to be that side. I toss and turn a lot before finally falling asleep, and more often than not I end up on my right side.

2. I have a washing dishes obsession.
- Which is true. Dirty dishes bother me, especially piled up and left for an extended period of time. I was washing dishes as soon as they were done being used the last time I visited. However, it made sense since we don't have a dishwasher. And big meals use a lot of dishes.

Popcorn Chicks

Yeah, so I go to check on the quail today. There are 4 chicks in the brooder that were put there from yesterday. So I open the incubator, expecting a few more to have hatched.

47 little quail babies the size of popcorn chicken pieces peep-peeping at me.

I've never seen so many all at once before.

Dream

You dream about the oddest things at the oddest times

I had a dream of Zorro last night. Little black fluff ball of a pomeranian we had for almost 12 years. He's been gone for a year and a half now, but I still miss him. And my mom still misses him. He may have been called the 'Family dog,' but he was really mom's. Sort of how Kaylee is her's now, though Kaylee seems to love us all more equally than Zorro did.

Now I'm all sad.

As if studying wasn't depressing enough.

Tired

My certification exam is three weeks from tomorrow. Therefore my level of stress is going to increase in direct proportion to how much time I have left before the test date.

Tomorrow is the last day of vacation.

Pretty much says it all.

Don't expect to be seeing much of me for the next month. I will be job hunting and studying for my test. But I will poke my head in every once in a while when time allows.

Been busy these past few days. But here we are again.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Over on Generation Terrorists, the Forum was asked in one thread what we thought of Valentine's Day. My answer was, as the time, I could take it or leave. Take it because I was spending it with someone this year. Leave it because if you have no one to spend it with, you are made to feel like crap about it. But then again, stating tomorrow all the candy will be 25-50% off.

According to the radio, women still prefer the 'tradional' gifts. Chocolates, flowers and jewelry. Flowers die and chocolates go to you hips...but zirconia is forever ;)

So my consecutive posting streak is over. I missed yesterday, but that is okay. Got a bunch of stuff done.

So this will just have to be the start of a new streak.

Oddity of the Day

While walking across campus I noticed someone had drawn small chalk outlines of what appeared to be squirrels.

Like miniature crime scene chalk outlines of squirrel bodies.

I saw one that was missing a head.

People are bizarre sometimes.

Vacation is less than 24 hours away. Technically starts when I get out of work. But I won't be where I want to until about 9pm.


On a completely unrelated note:
I am having a massive craving for peanut butter and grape jelly/jam sanwiches.

Though it may be in serious jeopardy over the next few days. Oh they are going to suck in all kinds of ways. And none of them fun.

The civil service exam has done nothing but reaffirm my hatred of the english language.
